Anxiety, Fears & Sleeping
| Anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways. Many children experience everyday worries, but for some their fears are more persistent and can be debilitating if left untreated. For example, separation anxiety, sleeping issues, phobias and school refusal are quite common in children and adolescents.
| Anger can be a normal emotional reaction to being treated unfairly. However, when a child is frequently losing control of their anger, there can be serious consequences for the child and also for those around them.
| Teasing is a form of bullying that most children are likely to experience at some time during their schooling. Fortunately for some it has little impact as they are quite resilient and able to cope with it and from this experience they learn to develop various skills that will assist them in dealing with life’s many challenges.
| A certain amount of conflict in families is inevitable and sometimes families can actually benefit from conflict through teaching them how to compromise.
Conflict can happen when family members have different views or beliefs and conflict can arise when people misunderstand each other and jump to the wrong conclusion. Issues of conflict that are not resolved can lead to arguments and resentment. Furthermore, ongoing conflict can be stressful and damaging to relationships.
